A long chilly ride home

I got up Tuesday morning, rode the Dragon one last time and decided to head for OKC.  It was a nice riding day in North Carolina, but the further I got into Tennessee, the more cloudy it became.  Just before Jackson, about 350 miles into the day, it started a cold blowing rain.  I decided to give it up for the day and checked into a motel.

I got an early chilly start on Wednesday and stuck with it for 567 miles of blustery north winds and what seemed like an endless I40.  Overall, I rode 2137 miles from about 7 am on Saturday to about 5:30 pm on Wednesday.  I had a great time seeing the scenery and twisty roads in North Carolina.  Maybe again next year about this time.

It's a nice time to be riding in that part of the world, at least for a little bit yet. The summer is gone, the winter isn't really around, just nice. Too bad it's so cold and damp where I'm living.
